Gliding on the winds of change
Holding fast to every dream
The person that I used to be
Has changed so much, it seems

Time has made me what I am
Every place that I have been
Has etched it's image on my mind
And sometimes I return again

The universe unfurls to me
In its beauty and its might
As I travel through this life of mine
Through the darkness into the light

Some dreams have vanished in the mist
Some never leave my heart
I cannot explain or understand
When did they ever start?

What difference does it really make?
I'm here just for a while
And the sweetest treasure I can know
Is traced upon your smile

I've known warmth in deepest winter
I've had sunshine when it rained
I've won and lost and given up
Only to start out fresh again

I've said goodbye more than I'd like
Each departure so bittersweet
But new beginnings wait for me
To make my life complete

The hugs, the laughter carry me
To a place that I must go
What destination can it be?

The softness of the gentle stream
That gathers life we see
The beauty of God's tenderness

The love we feel within our heart
When looking all around
To know that we have captured dreams
By what our hearts have found

Within a tree that stands so tall
A swan that makes a wave
We gather dreams within these gifts
By treasures we have saved

Within the heart a treasure trove
Of all that life can give
A peacefulness that holds us close
Through each day that we live

Roses are beautiful and delicate
With a fragrance light and sweet.
Their petals are soft as velvet
Like an angel's kiss upon the cheek.

Like a rose with drops of dew
And the beauty in your heart

Friends are the color of rainbows
Sent from heaven above
To fill our lives with caring,
Happiness, hugs and love.

Yellow is for the sunshine
As they lift your spirits each day
With warm thoughts and feelings
They send along your way.

Blue is for the cloudy days
When you are feeling gray.
Somehow they know what you need
And the right things to say.

Pink is for the laughter and love
You feel when they are around
Sharing...talking...listening
Or sometimes without a sound.

Lavender is for the serenity
You feel within your heart
From knowing someone cares
Even when you are miles apart.

Friends are presents sent by God.
You never know when they will come along.
So always keep your heart open
So you can hear the friendship song.

Although rainbows have many other
Various shades, colors and hues,
These are the beautiful colors I see
In my friendship rainbow with you.
