Ask anyone who's been to Lady Jane's and watch their eyes light up. Everything they make is great but their cherry pie is to die for.

Visiting the area, my brother told me this was the place that all his friends said was great & they where right. Not only is the food, well, yummy, but it's a great value too. I wish they had one down in LA!
Outstanding seafood, as well as prime rib. Actually, everything we tried was great. Only downside is a long wait, but well worth it.
Worst service I've seen in a long time. Several had their meals prepared incorrectly, we saw our waiter perhaps twice -- once to get our order & once to give us the bill. When we asked for a small side of mushrooms for our 3 year old nephew. He refused, first saying they couldn't, then that the mushrooms where really bad. Hmmm... considering I just ordered a mushroom swiss burger, I wasn't sure what to make of that. Avoid at all costs.
It can get crowded on Friday & Saturday nights, but Bodega's is a great place to visit in the early evening, especially before 7, while their happy hour is still running.

Great beer, friendly people, and a terrific beer garden outside. I love this place.

Some of the better gyros I've been able to find in California.
Life doesn't get better than a Giordano's stuffed sausage. To avoid the ~45 minute wait for a stuffed pizza, you can phone your order in ahead (even if it's sit down).

Located a little bit south of the loop, there's not a lot near it, but George Diamond's offers a terrific steak and for a pretty good price. Best of all, since it's not well known, there's rarely a wait, even on the weekend.

Endless waves of meat on skewers. No, you've not died and gone to heaven, you're just at Fogo. Ignore the salad and the sides -- you're there to eat beef, my friend. My favorite was the filet wrapped in bacon.
