Merry Christmas, One and All!
I am a TJ Maxx aficionado. Since my childhood shopping along with my mother, I've shopped 100's of locations. We jokingly call the store its first name, TJ's. It is the height of shopping nirvana. True to their marketing slogan, never the same place twice. A constant flow of name brand merchandise at bargain basement prices.
The TJ Maxx in Fond du Lac is an exceptional store. It is so clean, you're almost afraid to disturb the displays. The shelves and racks are always full to the brim, and the store is so clean you could eat off the floor. The salesclerks are very helpful as well.
Whether you're shopping for yourself or for gifts, this is the place. You can't beat the prices and quality. And, if you need a dose of Retail Therapy, at least you won't feel so guilty the next day when you see the receipt!
We happened upon this place when some friends came in from out of town. It looked very authentic from the parking lot. We were pleased to be greeted by a polite child, it was obviously a family-owned restaurant. The service was perfect and the menu had many choices. The food came very quickly, and even in the few minutes waiting we were offered warm tortilla chips and salsa, both that were so tasty. The entrees were amazing! So delicious.
On another visit we took my parents who were in from Michigan. My mother is a cook and a half. Like the Jewish Mother only not Jewish. Anyway, we were ranting about the rice--it was perfectly seasoned, not dry like several other Mexican restaurants--it was so good. She asked the waiter if he would tell her what the secret was or how they made it. He stood there, pleased by the comments and said, "No, no! No, no!" as if reprimanding a child. It was funny. We tried to get the recipe but obviously have to keep going back to enjoy it.
We also got take-out that was just as good, excellent portions. I have to mention the fried ice cream is divine, you must try it!
Overall a fabulous experience.
