This is probably my overall favorite bar in Austin. Maybe the whole state of Texas. From the tiny cramped dancefloor to the dirt cheap Lone Star and setups, this bar is the epitome of a honky tonk. Now that Dale Watson has moved to the northern nether regions, some may think that Ginny's has lost it, but no, just because it's not Dale doesn't mean you can't enjoy some chickenshit bingo on Sundays and high quality vintage country music.

A gravel parking lot with hand painted signs, a large outdoor patio, low lights, Tejano and vintage country music on the jukebox, and plywood floors make this inexpensive beer joint one of my favorite places to sip a super cheal Lone Star and see excellent bands like the Moonhangers without a large obnoxious crowd, and light years away from the UT party crowd.
