When government is so complicated that repealing a tax is bad for those who would have paid it, something is seriously wrong. --In Brief by The Foundation for Economic Education--> Click here
My husband and I used to go to the Applebee's in Texas for our special occasions, and were never dissappointed; we've been to this location a couple of times before, and were not dissappointed; but at our last visit this past fall, we were not impressed.
Came at an off-lunch hour, around 2-3 PM, and had to wait 15 minutes to be seated.
Then, once seated, looked over the menu, and noticed that prices had increased quite a bit more than what we had expected to pay... $20 for overcooked (supposed to be cooked medium) sirloin tips.
Also, had to remind server to refill drinks, as well as wait quite a while for the server to come by.
Parking near the restaurant can also be somewhat hard to find, as it is located within University Mall.
My husband and I never leave this restaurant feeling hungry...
we recently won a gift certificate for lunch for two, it included:
two drinks, two salads, two entrees, and two desserts
Needless to say, we took home quite a bit of leftovers... enough for lunch the next day for both of us!
My husband's favorite is their calzone... just one of them can feed two people!
Any of their pasta entrees include fresh garlic bread, and they always have a daily special that's around only $3!
An average meal for two would cost only $15-$20!
Parking can be somewhat tricky, so be prepared to parking space hunt.

My husband and I went for an early dinner for New Year's, and were dissappointed by the food... ordered a combo of chicken and ribs, which included a salad bar for around $20, and added a shrimp skewer for an additional $5.
Salad bar consisted of few items... I agree with the previous reviewer that the introductory bread was very good, but that was probably the best part of the meal. The chicken was overcooked, leaving it dry; same went for the ribs, which had very little meat on the bones; and the shrimp had no flavor at all.
The ambiance was very nice, but I imagine that is why the meals cost so much.... surrounded by a southwestern atmosphere, with southwestern paintings and artifacts; it had a somewhat rustic-personal feel to it.
Service was sub-par, as we were one of the first guests of the evening, had to wait 15 minutes for order to be taken, and had to remind server to refill a friend's drink, and they never offered a pitcher of water or larger glasses for water for our table.

Looking for a place to go to without breaking the bank?
Several good portioned entrees starting around $5, with the average price around $7!
They also have vegetarian food available as well, including salads and pasta if you're not into 'pub food'.
Recommended for lunch time, as it gets quite busy & packed after 5PM
